the commercial of Mrs. Flectcher who fell, couldn’t get up, but was rescued by LifeCall. A very useful device indeed!
Well, thanks now to geo technology, there’s a device called GeoSkeeper, that provide accurate location tracking of exactly where the person is during the time of distress. Instead of a mere phone or pushbutton, it’s:
….fully programmable over the air. Users or caregivers can program various features, such as speed dialling numbers, automatic answering, various alerts (e.g. when battery is low), geofencing area and more, all via a user-friendly Web-based interface….
This could be very useful indeed for folks who are the primary caregiver to the elderly, disabled, special needs kids and the like. And take it from me - when your loved ones need you, you WANT to be notified yesterday. You don’t want to wait for a phone call, you don’t want to wait for someone to knock at your door (are you listening, parents???) you want to be alerted so you can help out ASAP.
Speaking of being there, here are some resources for primary caregivers:
- FamilyCareGiver Forum
- ElderCare Forum
- SafeAging Resources (lots of info)
ThankYouVeryMuch!
